The Vegas Diaries – Tuesday Feb 8th 2011

I arrived on Tuesday afternoon at the airport/casino. Poker machines and showgirls beside bag carousels got the party started. I had a few hours to kill before seeing the show I'd booked for that night so walked the Las Vegas strip. It's seedy in a glamorous way. Seedy as in it just feels wrong to be looking at the sites during the day. When you go in and out of hotels you go from outside (jacket weather) to inside (sleeveless is fine) so it’s hard to feel fresh with the aircon blasts constantly. Also you can smoke anywhere and everywhere so there's this omnipresent car-freshener scent that tries to mask the smoke. But everything has been made to perfection. That's how I came up with my seedy but glamorous summary.

The show I saw night one was Le Reve and it was fantastic! It's is a pool with a stage on the outskirts and the show is a girl's dream and the fantasy journey she goes on. The story's told through acrobatics, diving, synchronized swimming. Just amazing.

And that’s Day 1.
